What is BetterPoints Hull

Earn rewards when you leave the car at home and walk, wheel, cycle, or take public transport around Hull

‍BetterPoints Hull rewards you for walking, wheeling, cycling and using public transport in Hull. Funded by Hull City Council, the free programme uses the BetterPoints app to encourage greener, healthier travel. Record journeys automatically or manually, earn reward points, and choose whether to spend them with local retailers, big brands, or donate them to charity.

Follow these instructions to get you started:

1️⃣ Download the BetterPoints app from the App Store or the Google Play Store (or scan the QR below).
2️⃣ Tap Join Now in the app and create an account.
3️⃣ If you have a postcode in Hull City Council area, you will automatically join the BetterPoints Hull challenge.*
4️⃣ Complete the Get Started survey. Then turn tracking on in the top-right corner.
5️⃣ Start earning BetterPoints!

*Don't have Hull City Council postcode but travel there regularly? Enter the code BPHULL when you register.

What you can earn

Every eligible journey that passes through Hull earns you BetterPoints:

🚶 Walk, wheel, run or cycle: 1 point per minute, up to 30 minutes per day

🚌 Bus or train: 15 BetterPoints per journey, up to 2 trips per day

🎟️ Weekly prize draw: earn up to 2 tickets per day for any sustainable journey - 250 BetterPoints can be won every Monday.

🏆 We also run regular bonus rewards and prize draws throughout the programme, with prizes including electric bikes, European city breaks, shopping vouchers and more.

What you can spend points on

Head to the 🎁 Rewards section of the app to browse vouchers from local independent businesses and high street brands. You can also donate your points to local and national charities.
